GMW carries out biological testing on new and existing products from early development to registration.
GMW has developed a methodology which allows research on BCAs before starting field tasks.
BCAs cover a wide range of potential products:
- Micro-organisms
- Macro-organisms
- Semi-chemicals
- Plant extracts
BCAs are mainly used in:
- Organic farming where no chemical inputs are permitted
- Integrated crop production programmes which reduce pesticide use, resulting in an improved conservation of the environment and better food quality (less pesticide residues)
- Resistance management to replace sprayings with conventional pesticides.
